Trained as a Social Scientist, I have pioneered Matera's successful bid to the European Capital of Culture title. It all started with some voluntary work in a cultural association of imaginative youngsters, and finished as part of the Artistic Direction team. Since the city's nomination, I have been observing the un-failure in implementing the visionary projects which we one for. I have been observing from an involuntary distance, as I have relocated in Brussels and am currently working in the field of Eurospace (application of space technologies).

My name is Alina and I am originally from Bucharest. I am currently studying Leisure Management in the Netherlands, and next year I will start my specialisation in creative industries and social innovation. Last year I did a 7 months internship at Artconnect, which is a start-up that aims to empower artists' career in Berlin, by bringing the art scene of Berlin together in an open and transparent online network. This internship got me very interested in community management and in the way individuals can become more powerful as an entity in fostering social change and innovation. This is also what brought me here, on Edgeryders. Ever since I decided to go and study abroad, right after highschool, I thought that I would like to come back to Bucharest and try to do something here, because I think the city is fun and that it has a lot of potential. Also, I find it challenging and exciting to try and create something here. This is also the reason why I am very interested in Bucharest's bidding to become european cultural capital 2021, and especially in the way a community like edgeryders could contribute to drive innovation and to contribute to the overall strategy.

I live in Milano with my wife and three childrens, and I still nourish a passionate interest for spirituality and technology. I spent many years of my professional career to use and promote free software (free as freedom), as a cutting edge solution in business contexts. Now I'm working at Intesi Group as technology evangelist, engaged on strategy and communication. I like to play with my childrens using funny tech "toys" like arduino, because I like to think that in the foreseeable future we all will be able to fabricate our own stuff. I also study the hebrew language, hoping a day to better understanding the Bible. In spring 2013 I discovered the EdgeRyders initiative and the unMonastery experience on Internet, with a clear feeling of familiarity of ideas and spirit, especially when I read the great post of Alberto about  "What modern-day social innovators can learn from the life and times of St. Benedict". Rules are really like software protocols in our organizations: I believe it becouse I experienced it many times during my professional live, in many different organizations. And when rules are soft and open like in the St. Benedict's Rule, or in the Stallman's GNU Public License, then a silent deep revolution can start. And I believe that an other requirement is very important to trigger this kind of silent radical innovations: the device ("le dispositif" of Michel Foucault).  Without Internet and the personal computer the free software revolution couldn't have existed. Also the Rule of St. Benedict can't be implemented without the distinctive architecture of monasteries. The architecture of the space in which we live, the design of the objects and technology we use, the hardware and the network hosting and moving our digital data: all this kind of things are devices, in which many possibility are implicitly enabled or disabled, which some constraints and some degree of freedom embedded inside. And both, rules and devices, must be designed together, because  each one assume and involve the other. My wife, a philosopher of education, and me, we feel the need of a place in our city area, in Milan, where is possible to organize cultural events and technological laboratories, a mental contagion space open to people and especially to children (the future is of them), where is possible to meet new ideas, makers, social innovators. I think this aim is strongly tuned with the EdgeRyders spirit, so I joined the community.

About

"I SEEK WAYS NOT JUST TO DO GOOD BUT ALSO RATHER TO HELP MANY OTHERS DO BETTER." I was born and raised in Kenya; I am appreciative of the cultural diversity and communities that I have been a part of over the years. Though initially taken aback by the culture shock along the way, I have come to realize that there is something unique to share from the life of every individual that the world can learn from. It is this realization that I hope to encourage in others through my journey in life. I have always yearned to be a more proactive member to the betterment of society. It sounds cliché but "saving" the world, rather the people within it, is my pursuit of happiness... With that said, I can save anyone. However, helping one realize where his or her freedom truly begins; that is, within the mind, is the most catapulting act towards that saving grace that anyone can offer another. I am passionate about creating change in the world. I believe that my generation is the generation that can end extreme poverty and want to dedicate my work to that. I ideally like working on the ground with local communities, to create sustainable projects to increase access to education and gender equality. I have strengths in volunteer which I would like to develop further. The common threads throughout my experiences are a desire to communicate with the world around me, to impart knowledge to those who desire it, to work tirelessly in achieving goals in a diverse workplace, and to continue to learn and grow alongside the organizations I serve. I am passionate about purpose driven responsibilities especially engaging in activities involving practical development solutions. I am self-oriented and endowed with both spoken and written communication skills and a team leader as well. Community Empowerment is my passion, Sustainability is my mission, Fundraising is a gift and volunteering is what got me where I am today. It is what nurtured me into becoming an effective fundraiser for noble and Worthy causes. These are the only constant things in an organization. I believe in a society where people are entitled to their personal decisions by expressing and exploring their abilities and potential to influence their lives. I work towards harnessing the individual and collective power of marginalized people through nurturing strategic alliances believing less fortunate people hold and have the power to transform a society or a community. I am passionate about social change and community services, to network with likeminded individuals and find possible roles and solutions in developing the world.

I am a Social Worker, holding a MA in Human Rights and Democracy in SEE. At the moment I am working for the Albanian Head of Network, which is part of Anna Lindh Foundation Network and part of an international network of over 40 countries - Albanian Forum for the Alliance of Civilizations. The main focus is intercultural and interfaith dialogue and coexistence. My working contract, however, ends in two months. After that the plan is to work full time for another NGO, YMCA-Young Man Christian Association, which has started functioning in Albania in the last 2 years and where I have been volunteering in the last year. I am a board member as well. For now there are only two people leading and working, me and a colleague, and friend of mine and we do not have an office either. YMCA has a lot of branches worldwide and quit powerful but in Albania we are still young and on our first steps. The entire work and activities that we implement are on volunteer bases but hopefully soon things will change for the best. The main focus of YMCA is youth empowerment and everything that it implies and covers: not limited only to young people, and of course not limited only to man and/or Christian. Its philosophy is a healthy body-mind-soul. This is what makes us believe and hope to have even some positive result when engaging with the community and the young people. It is important to mention that in Albania corruption is a big problem and what is worse is that it has 'concurred' the civil society as well. This makes it difficult and sometimes even impossible for new and young organizations or centers to survive especially without the right connections. For this reason we struggle but also hope!

IÂŽm from PerĂș, I was study fine Arts there. My life was a little complicated My father drank a lot and my mother was not there, One day I decided to escape from this life. I wanted out of there and meet other worlds so I leave my studies and my life there so I came to Germany to make a year as Au-pair (because was first easy way to sustain) but with no more Ideas than the second world war about Germany and any plan for the future here. I was only sure about one thing and was no come back, not return to the horror that lived with my father in peru. These year i discovered the Udk and interested me to study here and stay. So I decided to prepare me to enter. I had no idea how hard it is to a foreign and more when your are no European get a place in the University here. ( 3 jobs, German exams, porfolio... ) But I got it ! with much effort and the Idea that I could not go back helped me a lot. So I study product design in Berlin and I can stay as a student here because the father from my au-pair family wrote a document for me because I donÂŽt have 8,000 Euro for a year for a Student visa here. He is like my angel and my warranty person in this country and I learned to fight and have faith, make my life and grow here. After all this I think my practical skillset is give hope to the others to fight for what they really want. IÂŽm interested in learning during this course How help the others, What can do the design to really help the others, What can be the other function from design in the people, in the society, because I know how is to be in the other site of the situation. IÂŽm interested about learning how can building proyects with people from the real life and design. Because I can as designer to create a lot of new objects or re-create but I personally need a sustain and a purpose. And together with design do it something for the group of people that nobody see.

Fast-forward five years, and I'm a die-hard EWBer deeply involved in the report's annual publication and potential restructuring, including serving as Editor-in-Chief in 2014. Other stints with EWB include designing programs for youth that challenge the pervasive saviour complex surrounding development work, and serving as Business Development Team Lead for a project in West Africa using mobile tech to improve entrepreneurs' access to finance. Stefanos thinks himself as a European nomad. At the age of 17 he left his home town Thessaloniki for the greek island of Syros to join a five-year study programme of design with a systemic twist but not a specific orientation. Not finding any job descriptions matching his perspective of design as a creative problem setting and solving, he worked for the following five years in various culture related fields (animation & documentary production, event curation & music). The Greek recession made him re-evaluate his options and gravely contributed in his decision to leave his homeland and follow up in his studies with an MSc program in Service Systems Design in Copenhagen, Denmark. One year later he joins Namahn design consultancy in Brussels as an intern. He is currently working on his thesis in the field of service co-creation in the context of smart cities. His academic and professional interests lie in the fields of citizen participation, systems thinking and design for transformation. In his free time he reads science fiction, investigates the global musical underground and curates a weekly radio show on an internet pirate radio station.

I am dedicated to consultancy and new business developments, in optimalizing energy, matter and waste streams in agro-food and bio-chemical industries. In recent years I have developed a deep interest for new ventures and business ideas related to Blue Economy. I have contributed to several initiatives around the Brussels Blue Economy Group, but no effective commercial or industrial action has been decided yet. Most of my attention goes towards small scale urban industry and workplaces, large scale urban farming and waste solutions. I am managing director of an independent yacht charter agency, for more than 20 years now. I founded Sail and Sun Cruises (www.sailandsun.com), a specialist agency in yacht charter and nautical events in 1993. Our specialty is Luxury Yacht charter, although we remain active in bare boat charter and we are occasionally involved in special interest cruises for small groups, in nautical incentives, in meetings and events. I have taken over a Dry Cleaning and Laundry in 2009. This business went through a turn-around in 2012 and is now profitable again. I am especially focused on development of environmental improvements and new, non-polluting cleaning technologies. I am searching for a sparing partner with whom to develop the business who is willing to take over the daily management by due time. I am keeping an eye on Real Estate renovation and Property management wherein I have been actively involved since 2010.

I started in Economics at Reed College and later was a student in Cognitive Science and Philosophy of Science and Technology. My thesis was a minimalist theory of infrastructures for collaboratively producing our world, with ethical orientation toward radical demographic inclusion: how we can live in a society much like ours but where the neurosurgeon and the toilet-cleaner have equal power and participation. I'm passionate about doing more with less, searching for the points with the most leverage, and applying principles of software development (such as "refactoring") to everything in the world. I like to consider the usability of any system by its real users, long chains of effects, and ultra-minimalist responses to any problem. I love looking at every scenario, no matter the scale, as collections of costs (of money, time, attention, rigidity, etc) that could be slashed or redistributed. And I consider it my duty to fiercely and valiantly oppose the common sense that says Us Simple Folkℱ are incapable of working on society-scale problems. I think every person with the desire to liberate a society should look at the total sum cost of everything it does and use their unique creative mind to figure out how to chop 50% off the top. I like the ideas of Bruno Latour, Christopher Alexander, and Yochai Benkler.

We print and deliver your personalized products (photo albums, calendars, canvases) with joy and special care. My previous working experience is 6 years in multinational companies, working in financial audit and restructuring advisory for Ernst&Young and KPMG, in Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest and throughout Romania. I have a bachelor degree in accounting and computer-science. This was up to the moment I realized that although I got specialized in finance and different industries businesses understanding, I did want to do something more meaningful, therefore I joined voluntarily one team of Cluj Donors Circle (part of The Founding Network) where I try to give a different perspective to Charity: we plan to organize this Autumn an event where to promote and raise money to start social economy ideas. This was we want also to raise awareness and show successful stories with charities that are self sustaining and Throughout my studies and career and everyday life I am very curious and enthusiastic to know about what people do and I love when I can put them in contact and future collaborations arise. I am very interested in the start-up and entrepreneurial environment in Romania, where I noticed that social entrepreneurship needs more visibility. I believe that the focus on how tech could help and tech specialist could make it easier if they would be involved in collaborative spaces with NGOs representatives. I want to find ways to put them work together for projects with a positive impact in their community.

My name is Manu, Italian electronic engineer, startup trainer and social entrepreneur based in Bucharest. In 2009 in Brazil, I wrote my MBA Thesis on Participatory Democracy. The interest in these topics led me to hold workshops in 11 countries where I present to curious and often incredulous crowds, the positive change that different actors are making around the world, through social business. In 2013 I left my job at Procter & Gamble in Paris and with my wife and we launched Babele : an open innovation platform fostering the global movement for change. The platform is now LIVE, it and provides a step-by-step business modeling methodology: a unique combination of lean startup, social impact assessment, and classical business planning. This methodology has been implemented and refined in 14 countries with over 500 social entrepreneurs using it during our workshops. In Babele, the crowd can give feedback, provide answers, post documents, share statistics and help the projects avoid wasting time, money and resources, from conception to implementation. Babele creates value for social entrepreneurs by receiving valuable input in the early stages of business development. Allowing people actively shape the development of a business, creates a strong supporting community for entrepreneurs, even before they have a product to sell. We believe that we can trigger a new culture based on open source collaboration. If you believe this is needed, don't hesitate : Join the movement: www.babele.co

My name is Ana. I graduated Art History and during the last year of my masters program I studied one semester in Madrid. There, I visited numerous alternative cultural spaces which succeeded in offering educational programs regarding urban development and also strengthening the community spirit and social integration. I returned in Bucharest determined to find such a space which would allow me to creatively interfere in the city's ever changing common spaces. So I joined an NGO that beside organizing cultural events, wishes to create an affective bond between the people and the city they live in, so as to determine them to act when, for example, a heritage building is in danger.

Lukas was made under an apple tree in a slopy meadow around 27 years ago. Today he does, what everybody does - change something - both in positive and negative sense. Lukas believes, that the solutions for our socio-political challanges we're facing lie in the people, their ideas, engagement and talents. The question is, how to get this powers together, to shape a future that is worth to live in. Through his studies in 'Global Change and Regional Sustainability" he became aware of the challanges we're facing right know. But to face these challanges it needs more than scientific analyses and descriptions of the status quo. What to do? Bring people and topics together - have conversations on it - co-create ideas - prototype it - learn from it and don't be afraid to fail! He just finished with his work at the Office for future-related issues and works now for the FutureLab (Zukunftslabor) in Innsbruck (Austria). In the weekends you can find him going out and dancing to electro music or doing something equal meaningful with friends. But participatory processes (co-creation), social innovation, open spaces, change management and global (climate) change are also his cup of tea. He likes couscous salad with raisins but doesn't like licorice.

Her a Fellowship with the Contemporary Art Society culminated in the exhibition "Damn braces: Bless relaxes", at Whitechapel Gallery and MIMA (2013-2014). The research focused on English 19th century landscape painting, during the height of enclosure of common land and related this to concepts of freedom and liberalism via William Blake, the online derive of Heath Bunting, privatisation during the Thatcher era and Oliver Laric's use of collaborative commons. Born in Belarus, raised in the Netherlands. I finished my Bachelor Organization and Governance Studies and got a Masters in Russian Studies. Went back to Belarus 1,5 year ago to discover and develop. I founded together with a friend a project called SocStarter. An International training program and a competition for social entrepreneurs. What started as a small program has been developed into a well known platform for people that initiate social projects to solve different problems. We got many partners such as UNDP. Besides a training program SocStarter is also a link between social businesses and the private and public sphere. We have trained in total more then 100 social entrepreneurs and have send 6 social entrepreneurs to the Netherlands as to discover the Dutch social business culture.

I live in Nantes, north-west of France. I used to practice kite and windsurf quite a lot when I was younger, and I am interested by the use of the wind as renewable energy to travel or to produce energy at sea. I am currently working as a control engineer in a society making autopilots for ships, but spent quite a lot of time on a personal project to develop an autopilot for kites, within Nantes Fablab.

I was born in Missoula, Montana and grew up on a small goat farm where my parents were dedicated to educational reform, predominantly in the field of inclusion and special education. I have always loved writing and got my undergraduate degree in creative writing and philosophy from the University of Arizona. A few years after I graduated I moved to Seattle and realized film was the perfect collaborative art, requiring photography, music, writing, acting, wardrobe, etc. I went to a matinee by myself at a cheap theatre in Lynnwood one rainy afternoon and saw Wong Kar-Wai's 'In the Mood for Love'. It was so beautiful and compelling, as I watched the credits roll, I saw lists of individuals who had somehow managed to work in the film industry and I thought to myself, why couldn't I find a way to do this as well? Is it possible? Having grown up on a goat farm down the Bitterroot, it seemed a bit far fetched. But for the next few years I committed to myself to do one thing towards that goal each day. I began volunteering at the Northwest Film Forum delivering their newspapers. Then after a few months, the volunteer coordinator told me there was a directing workshop no one wanted to attend and that since I'd volunteered so many hours, I could go for free. So I went and the guy giving the class had graduated from the London Film School in the 60s. I eventually attended LFS as well, getting an MA in filmmaking. After I graduated I moved back to Seattle and (from Craigslist) got a job working on a low budget horror film starring Tori Spelling, called Cthulhu. I worked as an unpaid intern, and then got promoted to production coordinator and took whatever job in film that I could for the next six years, working back to back on whatever came into town. I was fortunate that I fell in with a great independent film community in Seattle and stayed employed the whole time. I worked my way up from production assistant, to the AD department and into the role of UPM (Unit Production Manager). Then I was hired as a Line Producer at North By Northwest, which brought me to Spokane. I left NXNW four years ago to produce independently. The first film I produced with a group of friends from Seattle was called The Off Hours, directed by Megan Griffiths and it premiered at Sundance in 2011. I have since produced or co-produced several features. I have worked on over thirty films in my career, ranging from budgets of 100,000 to 7 million. I produced my husband, Robyn Miller's first film, The Immortal Augustus Gladstone. We self distributed and the film is now available for free on Vimeo and You tube https://vimeo.com/96945067. Robyn comes from a video game background (co-created Myst & Riven). The experience of self distribution with Augustus has piqued my interest in alternative modes of distribution and learning ways to combine the creative art of film in a way that is sustainable(financially). The Hero Pose is my first attempt at writing and directi

I'm a teacher in chemistry at the high school of Altamura (in Puglia, South Italy). I always tried to understand the causes and mechanisms of social injustice and poverty. So I've been working on how to limit it in the world. I'm pretty convinced that ethical banking is a very powerful tool to improve the society (I'm member of Banca Etica since 2000). This means that you can build something economically sustainable along with improving the society. The Open-Source working model is a great example for this. In my opinion one way of improving the society is to exploit renewable energy sources. Since 2006 I have become interested in Airborne Wind Technology (AWE) which utilises winds at high altitude. Since then I've been working in this domain: in 2008 I co-funded the WOW Spa company and my commitment was to evaluate the different AWE technologies. I have practiced windsurfing for more than 20 years which further feeds my understanding and fascination with aspects of aerodynamics.

My little edutech company ReBeats is now in private beta - http://rebeats.tv ! Very grateful for any feedback. About me - I'm a musician, linguist and tech enthusiast. As a bandleader I've toured the world and headlined concerts to over 40000 people; in an A&R capacity helped to discover Virgin multi-platinum artist KT Tunstall alongside many others, sold over 250,000 albums with my group Oi Va Voi (Outcaste/EMI/V2) and worked alongside the biggest producers in music, including Mike Spencer (Jamiroquai, Rizzle Kicks, Kylie Minogue) and multi-Grammy winner Paul Epworth (Bloc Party, Adele, Plan B). Tonguesten (ReBeats) is an itch I had to scratch - borne out of a personal obsession with language learning (I know 7-ish), and for years was an English tutor to non-native English speaking teenagers and worked as Music Director of education and arts charity Yad Arts. My love of languages has led to travel and work in Tokyo, Moscow and Jerusalem where I set up my own production company, which in the space of a year sold original content to dozens of international broadcasters. As an arts consultant, I've programmed for major venues such as the Barbican and South Bank Centre, and for 3 years was resident music industry expert for WOMEX, where I co-curated the annual programme of industry conferences for the 3000+ delegates. I love ideas, technology and culture, and believe that language is the most powerful tool of all. "The secret of happiness is to find something more important than you and dedicate your life to it". Along so many materials (Agricultural Wastes) that needs a lot of work to be done about qualitatively also quantitatively ...We are dealing with "palm trees" focusing on its "midrib " that great amount(almost 90%) of it get burned ...bottom line what we are doing is to get from it a new kind of wood that we need to share(market) it globally like any other wood..:))

Now I have graduated with a Masters Degree in Development Studies, specialized in Local Development Strategies from ISS, The Hague-Netherlands. I have worked with people from different backgrounds starting from Young changemakers in India, Young professional students from different nations at the University and in International organizations in The Netherlands, UK, and other EU member states. Now, the time has come to make a change and I feel confident that I can make a difference and contribute my learning to positive changes. I can support many individuals who want to make a difference and changemakers who already started working in the development field. I want to be a contributor in supporting their dream to make my dream come true.

The second edition of www.brasilicatatour.it brought for 5 months 120 Brazilian artists to live in Basilicata for a while and create with local artists and perform publicly more than 150 events. Everything done as a social innovation experiment through volounteer work and exchange of hospitality. During winter italian artists will be invited in Brazil for reciprocity. In the future this model can be transferred to other realities and become a best practice expecially if financially helped by sponsors or local authorities. I participated in LOTE 3 in Matera and helped in invlving the local Community and in spreding the idea and the results of UnMonastery also implementing artistic residencies together with UnMonasterians. ANd we can do a lot of things together again.... T

As an interaction designer I am connecting technology and people. In all my projects I am looking to apply technology to solve human needs and trying to apply technology in such a way that it's understandable and usable by people. The past years I have built my own company together with my friend and colleague Wouter. Our aim is to give people the opportunity to be creative by giving them the tools to design their own products. I believe that opening up the creative process to a larger audience enables them to experience the joy of creating something of your owm, something that you care about and has meaning in your life. I believe that the way we approach design, resource management and manufacturing is currently very limiting and put a strain on our environment. I believe that we can change our approach to building our environment by taking into account human values and applying natural processes. Nature has had billions of years to come up with solutions to the problems we are facing now (organization, resource management, building environments). By learning from nature and applying the solutions she has come up with we could be able to change the world for the better, to be more sustainable, more true to our heart and more effective.

Bruce's life and professional experience is a patchwork of diversity, and procession if not the making of a "renaissance man." Raised in rural MO, Bruce came by "DIY" naturally, out of necessity, marked by an insatiable curiosity, and fertile imagination. His father's workshop was the mother load for making stuff, but it was his mother, a prolific artist, who influenced Bruce's free-thinking and fueled imagination, exposing him to a creativity that seemed to know no boundaries: poetry, pottery, painting, pen & ink, airbrush and photography. When it came time to "make a living" Bruce never divorced himself from nature in the pursuit of money. He owned a handyman business helping others "do it yourself," which led to professional caretaking gigs where he lived and worked caring for vegetable gardens, landscapes, building and vehicle maintenance, and at times pinch-hit as chef! He discovered Permaculture gardening, primitive skills schools and spent years learning and working with a cadre of back-to-the-landers. He inspired the vision for and implementation of an heirloom seed garden for propagating indigenous, heirloom seeds from the Hopi and Navajo nations, replanting them inside Canyon de Chelly--once the agricultural and farming homeland of the Navajo, long-since abandoned for modernity and "urban" living. To support the rehabilitation of the garden project, Bruce was the founding partner in an ecotourism business-- Time Passages, conducting eco-tours inside the belly of the sacred labyrinth that is Canyon de Chelly. At Time Passages he worked closely with expert guides in archaeology, geology and anthropology of the Southwest region, together with the native Navajo guide, who together conducted week-long expeditions for eco-travelers in this sacred land. It would be some years later that Bruce found his love of new-media and film, which prompted him to pursued a scholarship at Vancouver Film School, where he was the recipient of a first-place award, garnering him a full scholarship, and where he earned his degree in New Media and is a graduate of Vancouver Film School. Uniting his love of nature with film and media skills, fueled by boundless imagination, Bruce took to backpack broadcasting, and single-handedly made a documentary film, and video shorts on eco-oriented subjects, traveling to rural and indigenous communities as diverse as Montana and post-Katrina New Orleans to Columbia South America and Darjeeling India, to learn and share what he was learning virtually with a community of like-minded others. In short, Bruce's life is a processional one, on a quest to bring nature and "making a living" together, and where the only thing we need is imagination.http://issuu.com/bravenewearth/docs/hypervillage

My diverse background, which includes building a $30 million managed asset private client financial services practice as well as a strategic advisory group that serviced early stage technology companies, provides me with a unique perspective on the requirements and challenges faced by both large and small organizations. Over the course of the last several years, I have explored deeply the relationship between technology and cultural formation; both within and across organizational boundaries. I believe we live at a unique time in history where the very nature of how organizations function is changing rapidly. Organizational boundaries, culture, values and processes are being challenged by a world that requires both that we integrate technology into the DNA of organizational culture as well as embrace a new set of values in support of these changes; transparency, individual autonomy, openness, a consideration for our community etc
This shift in values is being brought about by global forces beyond our local control (climate change, financial market collapse, increasing disenchantment with inequality etc..). Organizations need to proactively face the rapidly changing context by rethinking their organizational structures, governance mechanisms, decision making models, facilitation models etc. In our current context, organizations need to leverage the latent brainpower across their organization by creating a truly open, collaborative and inclusive culture. Furthermore, they need to explore ways of more directly extending the boundaries of their organizations so as to connect with, empower and engage the communities within which they are situated. In support of this, I bring experience very strong analytical, communication, leadership, writing and research skills to all the projects that I work on. I look forward to learning more about the specific challenges your organization faces and exploring ways that I can support the transition you are going through.

Grew up in the countryside of Alsace, France. Studied in the agriculture field (forestry and gardening), then worked as security agent while studying philosophy, graduated and studied law, economics, history in a preparatory course for civil servants competitions. Ended up with a master study in solidarity-based economy. Now looking forward for my next study course ;) Things I really like : permaculture, learning php/sql/css (why not Ruby), activist and non sexist social change, resilient community building, common education of children, bike culture and bike travelling, survivalism, traditional dances, drums, cooking, growing and harvesting food in cities, environmental and social activism, anarchism, everything which helps growing curiosity and freedom for everyone of us, human beings. What I hate is : religions, right-wing people and their subtle violent propaganda (there's no alternative, and such), almost everything which tells it provides freedom, while, when you unveil the curtain of well-established propaganda, you'll end up finding its serves the dominant class's interests and helps developing alienation of the weakest.

My life has been constant turmoil for the last several years. Everyone told me that I should go to college because I was smart, and I did. When I returned to those very same people to share what I had learned, I was told I had become a brainwashed know-it-all and that others' opinions were perfectly valid even in the face of empirical evidence otherwise. It eventually dawned on me that almost everything I had ever been told was either a bald-faced lie or an ignorant half-truth, and worse, those who "educated" me had no desire to learn the truth for themselves. At this point, I have rejected most of the ideologies, dogma, and epistemology under which I was raised. I strive to do something worthwhile with my aptitude for learning and my broad range of experiences, but I refuse to submit to the inefficiency, hubris, and condescension of ignorant administrators and their sycophants. This attitude has left me in various states of under-, un-, and non-employment, but somehow I'm always busy and able to pay my bills. My life now is consumed with sorting through the wreckage of my past, leaving the state of Arkansas, and building a more mobile, agile, and efficient future for myself and my wife. I'm going west, to the Pacific coast of the US, with the Seattle area as the intended epicenter of my next adventure.

Love of writing is easy like loving a friend whom always there. You can't resist love, the love to write, the love to paint and the love to blog. She love to write different ideas of innovation as SKYCIG Electric Cigarettes included.  Writing about what she learned in life is her key to find other topics of imagination. In that way she manage to write new ideas and experience which also relate in people's life, current news and fact about news. Writing fantasies, myth and legends also carry her to bind in a new topic were readers learn what are the real image of magic, a magic that creat a new image of art that produces a bound of love. Though she focus on fictions she also write current events, innovation and education. To be a writer is not an easy job yet you must learn a thousand words a millions of learning to deliver the best idea to every reader.

Most of his writings are topics about bank business loans, banking solutions, and about banking solution. Why business related articles? Maybe because this is what everybody wants to have and so to give them some ideas he created a blog related to their needs. For this guy, writing about business is easy as he can find a lot of resources all over the internet to validate his work. The fact that he's into business too he can easily apply his knowledge based on his experienced.

The ImagineTheCity platform was designed in 2009 and is being developed in order to open a creative dialogue between citizens, academics, creators and local authorities, on the decision-making processes and design of public works in Greek cities. It is developing a series of exhibitions in Greek cities presenting proposals for the regeneration of the urban landscape of each city enhanced with parallel urban events. Through ImagineTheCity Exhibitions, citizens are given the opportunity to be informed, discuss, understand the possibilities of improvement of their city's image and quality of life, and envision their city differently. An open call to the creative community and the educational institutions of Greece is made, in order to gather studies, digital material, designs and 3D models created by students and professionals around the country and abroad, which refer exclusively to the aesthetic and functional upgrade of the host city, through architectural, urban planning or artistic interventions. Throughout the duration of each exhibition, parallel events take place around the city, in order to disseminate new knowledge and perceptions to the local community, actively engaging children and young people to possibilities of transforming the urban landscape. ΀hrough lectures, debates, workshops and urban interventions, ideas on urban regeneration and local development are disseminated, unknown facets of the city are revealed and new ground for local synergies is created. The organization of ImagineTheCity Exhibitions is realized by local initiatives, in collaboration with the ImagineTheCity Coordination Team, which provides tools, know-how and support, based on the network and experience of all respective initiatives around Greece. Local initiatives can be informal groups of citizens, local organizations or citizens' initiatives, and they are motivated to build up an open network of cooperation between local citizens and organizations in order to co-develop each ImagineTheCity Exhibition.

Blogging is my first love because it my way to express myself. I love to share different ideas that I believe could help other people. It is my advocacy in life to reach out people through the ideas I write. Of course, among all the topics I love most, dog accessories product reviews are my favorite topic. For me, discussing product reviews about dog tags for dogs , leather dog collars , engraved dog tags , pet tags and dog leashes at HotDogCollars can eventually help pet owners in choosing right item for their pets.

The fight for what is right has been a journey of mankind since government was founded. It is not a mere concept but a value that one has to live by. The existence of acident lawyer is not a simple profession but a tool to create justice, to show righteousness and to deliver punishment to those who have sinned.Writers of the modern generation do not just focus on a self motivating perspective but also to social and political affairs that affect the life of its countrymen. Writing about political figures do not demerit the credibility of a writer, instead it enhanced freedom of expression as well as social awareness campaign. As a writer for the modern youth, it is a responsibilibility to open up their mind in liberalism and show exercising of rights and protecting interests. It is not creating chaos but instead enhancing lawful obligations.

I love reading books and writing news everyday. My passion in writing news brought luck to me. I've been writing different news events and now my latest topic is about Accident Lawyer. This is all about lawyers in Florida who build their own company to help more people who do not have enough money to pay for their case. At least when they know someone who can help them, it will lessen their payments. This is very helpful and they also have a free case study.

The value of mankind can't be measured by any form of measurement. But your value to mankind can be counted depending on the contributions you had for the society. Doctors help the people to have a good health, accident attorney defends the people who can't defend themselves, teachers taught the youngs, engineers build houses and buildings, etc.As a writer, the belief for shared knowledge and shared experiences is a tool for understanding each other. That's why the mass media has given credits for finding news and reporting recent activities made by influential people. Also, the newspaper that circulates throughout the region can give awareness and can awaken consciousness for the people to know what's going on with the world. It can make them move for a better future. The responsibility of changing the future doesn't just just rely to the youth but to eves individual who inhabit the earth. For the past three years, I've lived in five countries, traveled around Europe and Caucasus, hitch hiked in Iran, had a pick nick in Budapest and accidentally an internship at the European Parliament in Brussels. I am pretty sure everything in my life is just a happy accident, nothing really happens for a reason so we'll just have to go with the flow. On the first LOTE event, a year ago, I finally felt like home. Like I had found something special: friends and family to rely on and endlessness of interesting conversations and learning. I want to continue this awesome adventure the past year has been, partly because I accidentally stumbled upon the world most interesting gathering :)

Information sponge with serious problems when it comes to getting anything done and an inability to perceive myself as particularly knowledgeable about anything. Terse, unless you manage to get me going on a subject of particular interest, in which case your trouble will be getting me to shut up. (Or alternatively, getting me to explain what the hell I'm actually talking about.)I managed to get myself tangled in WikiLeaks in late 2009, which caused no end of trouble. Left that organisation for good in September 2010; have been trying to find ways to keep the good bits of the idea alive since. Unfortunately not able to put any of them into practice.I'm technically a historian, but I have a background in science and technology, particularly computer software. Not a computer specialist at all, but knowledgeable enough that I can make sense of some fairly dense jargon and deal with small programming tasks. The intersection of computing theory, social theory and anarchism is my particular field of interest; it's surprisingly easy to relate the three in a very meaningful way.Currently trying to figure out how the hell to survive. All but given up on finding a way to actually live.

I consider myself to be a social, friendly, helpful, patient and calm person. I enjoy watching movies, going out and visiting museums and cultural events. I like to travel, to visit other cities and, of course, to meet new people. I have been to Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Germany, Poland, England, France, Spain and Denmark for both holidays and work. Currently I am quiet active in the collaborative and sharing economy in Amsterdam. I am using P2P marketplaces like BedyCasa, Vayable, Gidsy, Fray.it, Uniiverse and more to be host and tourguide. Also working with other variable initiatives to spread to word about this new economy. The 16th of April I am co-organizing the first OuiShare Drink in Amsterdam and looking forward to unite the people in Amsterdam.

I am a 26-year-old social activist from Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the beginning of the 1990s there was an agression on Bosnia and Herzegovina which as a result had country's economy and society totally destroyed. Even today, almost 15 years after the war ended, Bosnia still has many problems. I want to see my country being a part of the modern developed world and am trying to give my contribution through social activism. I believe that ICT technologies can bring a change to developing countries and help their societies have a higher life standard.Almost four years ago I established Mozilla Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through that project we have engaged many young people to become members of the global Mozilla community working on various projects from marketing campaigns to education and software and web localization. All of them have learned new skills, made friends from all around the world and gathered valuable experience. It was Mozilla Community BiH that showed and proved to me that ICT technologies can do a lot in building civil society and making a difference in the community.I want us to do more and widen the scope of the activities. So, I am working on establishing FLOSSA - Free Libre Open Source Software Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With FLOSSA we want to build both real-life and online resources for educating people to use ICT to improve their life standards (further educate themselves using internet, start or improve their business, etc.) with a slight focus on poor people and rural parts of the country. We want to work with local governments from accross the country in order to establish regional telecenters that would provide people the access to computers and internet and would be places for educating people and starting local initiatives.I would like to connect with people who share my vision: to use ICT technologies to bring the change for the better in people's lives.

Two years ago I set up my first social enterprise - Pracownia Miejska [Urban Workshop]. The goal was to help cities use all of the new tools to better engage with their local communities, make smarter choices and build happier neighbourhoods. So far, I've been on the verge of going bankrupt at least twice (feel free to ping me - I'll tell u all about the "why"). BUT, I have an amazing team, both working with me in Konin and dispersed all around the country. We're learning something valuable every step of the way. The dream is alive and well. Wanna join? :)

I have been working on different causes, campaigns, projects and movements. At the age of 17, I led a campaign to establish the Municipal Youth Council in Santos, a platform that allows young people to advise on the youth polices and strategies of the city and I was later elected to be a city advisor at the Youth Council for two mandates.I was also part of the UN "Making Commitments Matter" process in Brazil. The initiative mapped, benchmarked and evaluated national youth policies in Brazil and presented a set of evidence-based policy recommendations to the National Government in 2004. Those included the need for creating more comprehensive National Youth Policies and an Inter-ministerial Secretariat dedicated to Youth, both were achieved on the following year.

I firmly believe that industrial society is a past concept, we are now in the knowledge society with its own "rules", as soon as we adapt much better.I am also a clear advocate of the public sector, even in times of crisis, as the only possible answer to secure a decent welfare state for the whole society. All in all I think the paradigm of open government is the solution, that is the way to govern cities, regions, countries that are involved citizenship at the time to think, design, implement and evaluate services public.Concepts such as OpenGov, OpenData, Transparency, Public Sector, ICT ... are very common in my articles, presentations, etc..Basically it comes together to create and share knowledge, do you want to play with me? :)

First, I'll describe myself from a male perspective: I am a hacker. I like to figure out how things work. I like to fix things that are broken. I like to make people smile. I really like excellent surprises. I have been taking things apart since I can first remember. One of my first memories was as two or three year old taking the bulb out of the lamp at the side of my bed and placing a nickel inside. It blew the fuse and freaked my parents out. My first looks at complex machinery were old broken 8mm cameras. Also my first failures. Couldn't put them back together. I am really really good at jumping into complex problems that are completely f*cked up, where no one, and I mean no one, understands the complete system and then figuring out how to fix it while improving it and keeping it running. That's my specialty. Bringing the dead to life again. Restoring sanity where only madness lay. I am a change strategist. Started programming at 16 on the TRS-80. I learned enough to get a job without having done anything other than read the manual and play around a bit on the demo computer at Radio Shack. I literally learned on the job. My programming job was writing simulation software for algorithmic commodity trading systems. This was in 1981, way before algo-trading was popular. Landed a job working for the most famous trader in the world at the time, known as the Prince of the Pits, Richard Dennis. Traded for a few years, made ridiculous sums. Ridiculous sums. But I was bored. I wanted to get back into software. The group later became famous as "The Turtles." I later wrote a book about the experience called Way of the Turtle that became a bestseller and available in about 15 different languages. Started developing software on the Mac in 1985, purchased the rights to a database developer library product called InsideOut. Made it much faster and better. Had fun doing that. It was the number one database engine on the Mac for many years. Got involved in the object-oriented community in the days of MacApp. Presented at the Frameworks conference several years in the late 80s. Once asked Jean Louis Gassee in front of a few thousand people at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference why Apple had not had any breakthrough products nor had the OS improved in years, since the Color Mac really. He didn't have a good answer. Everyone knew it. Put an SQL engine on top of our database engine for a project for NorTel for the largest mobile sales automation (now they call it CRM) project in the world at the time. Ended up taking over the whole project because we did good work and the other consultants didn't. They had a complete mess and we fixed it slowly but steadily. About four or five of the engineers from the other consulting firm were really good. We hired them. Two of them ended up eventually leaving to work on this new internet browser thing. They had been friends with Marc Andreeson at the University of Illinois, one

I am trying to keep you alive. There are lots of threats which governments are either ignoring or causing. I am filling in the gaps. Overconsumption is reducing our planet's ability to support life. Seven of us exist for every person alive 200 years ago! Nuclear war, bioweapons, even plain old conflict are driven by resource scarcity. Good engineering could at least double how far our resources can stretch, the rest has to be done by demand reduction: living within planetary limits. But governments do not fund engineering solutions to political problems, except in war, so the technologies which could bring plenty to the world (or at least more room for manoeuvre) are largely unfunded or undeployed. A likely response to increasing resource scarcity (manifest as economic problems and rising prices) is centralization of power (fascism). In the past, hard right-wing governments have come to power during and after economic collapses, leading to unnecessary wars or even genocide. Democides (governments turning on their people) killed a quarter-billion people in the 20th century. Finding better solutions than centralization and war is my life's work.

Community Building & Management

Community is a word with many definitions. 'Online community' means different things to different people too. What we mean in this toolkit is a collection of people, joined together mainly through an networked asynchronous computer platform, in which the participants develop various individual & group relationships in ways that make sense to them, either personally, professionally or both.

It achieves its community status through the weaving of those relationships, and its sense of community is held in common by the will of the participants themselves. A true measure of it being a real community is if the people using it consider themselves to be part of a real community, even though most interactions take place in a virtual space.

At its heart, an online community is all about relationships. It is well proven that it is possible for people to experience authentic depth in these relationships, even when chiefly communicating via networked computers.

Our theory of change is building dense networks around people trying to tackle messy social-ecological, economic and political challenges. Having a dense network around you is one of the hallmarks of social capital, and gives you access to expertise, resources, skill sharing and financing. In a dense network, there are many ways for you to get from one point to another. A key challenge here is for people with aligned interests to find each other, and as a community we’re out to solve just that.

We are Edgeryders

We are collecting your stories to better understand how we can level up impact of our efforts to fix socialecological, economic, and political challenges. We want to know what you have to say, and we want others to connect and collaborate with you.

This is how it works.

Edgeryders is a community of individuals from different walks of life in 80 + countries. Members have been sharing their stories, their ideas, their problems, and their solutions since 2013. All these posts together are what we call our "collective intelligence".

Our data analysis team uses open source methodologies and technologies to create interactive visualisations of the conversations as they evolve. The visualisations make it easier for everyone to find and connect across common interests and new insights.

This is all financed through revenue from research grants, consultancy and training for other organisations.
